How to Enable Aero Glass effect in Windows 7


1. Click the Start Button
2. Type "Run" in the Search Programs and files box and hit enter
3. Now a window will be open named as Run Window.
4. Type "Regedit" and hit enter. if any confirmation window click on yes
5. Now a window will be open named as Registry Editor.
6. click on the tab called HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
and navigate to the following location


HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM


7. On the right hand side of the pane Right click the mouse and create a new DWORD value (32-bit) set the value to 0 and named it as UseMachineCheck.
8. Now repeat the same process and creating DWORD value (32-bit) and set its value to 0 and named it as blur.
9.Again create a new DWORD value (32-bit) with its value to 0 and value named animations.
10.For the changes to take effect, Close the Registry Editor and reboot your PC.
11. After Restrating the system open start and search for CMD, and click Enter.
12.Next type for the command Net Stop uxsms and hit enter then type Net Start uxsms. and hit enter. Now the command will stop and log desktop window Manager.
13.Now to enable Aero by right clicking on the desktop, personlize and colors Windows.

Windows Key Shortcuts (in Windows 7)

Win+Up Maximise

Win+Down Restore/Minimise

Win+Left Snap to Left

Win+Right Snap to Right

Win+Shift+Left Jump to Left Monitor

Win+Shift+Right Jump to Right Monitor

Win+Home Minimise/Restore all other Windows

Win+T Focus the first taskbar entry/Pressing again will cycle through them, you can can arrow around.Win+Shift+T cycles backwards.

Win+Space Peek at the desktop

Win+G Bring gadgets to the top of the Z-order

Win+P External display options (mirror, extend desktop, etc)

Win+X Mobility Center (same as Vista, but still handy!)

Win+a number key Launches a new instance of the application in the current number slot on the taskbar.

Example: Win+1 launches first pinned app, Win+2 launches second, etc.

(plus or minus key) Zoom in or out.

Disable Unwanted Startup Programs in windows 7 / XP

1. Click the Start Button
2. Type "msconfig" in the Search Programs and files box and hit enter
    (In windows XP click Start - Click Run - and type "msconfig" in the Run Window and hit enter)
3.Then a System configuration window opened select the "startup" tab
4.Uncheck the boxes to those processes that are not important for start-up. This will disable them.
5. click Apply and OK.
6. Restart the System.... and Enjoy....

Reset Internet Explorer 7/8/9

1. Click the Start Button
2. Type "inetcpl.cpl" in the Search Programs and files box and hit enter
    (In windows XP click Start - Click Run - and type "inetcpl.cpl" in the Run Window and hit enter)
3.Then Internet Properties Window Opened
4. Click on the Advanced Tab
5. Click the Reset Button
6. In the Message Box check the Delete Personal Settings and click Reset Button
7. After Resetting Click Close Button
8. Restart the Internet Explorer...and Enjoy....

Enable or Disable Secure Log On CTRL+ALT+DELETE in Windows 7

1. Click the Start Button
2. Type "netplwiz" in the Search Programs and files box and hit enter
3. Then the "User Accounts" Window Open
4. Click on the "Advanced Tab"
5. To Enable Secure Log On Check the "Require users to press   

    Ctrl+Alt+Delete"  box
6. To Disable Secure Log On UnCheck the "Require users to press  
 
    Ctrl+Alt+Delete" box
7. Click on "Apply" and Click "OK"
8. Now Log off /Restart the System. Then You can see the difference...and

Format a Corrupted Pen Drive

1. Click HERE to Download the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool
2. After Downloading Please install the Application
3. After Installing Please Insert your PenDrive to USB Port
4. Open HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool
5. Check the "Quick Format" Box
6. Click "Start" Button
7. After Finish You can use your Pen Drive normally ..and Enjoy...

Using Keyboard as a Mouse by Using MouseKeys

1. Press Alt+Left shift key (Below Caps Lock key) and the Num Lock key
2. Then a "Mouse Keys window" will opened just hit Enter
3. Now you can use your numeric keypad to move the mouse pointer.
4. Numeric Keypad Keys 2,4,6 and 8 used for move the pointer
5. Numeric Keypad Key 5 is used for Left click
6. Numeric Keypad Keys * or - then Press 5 is used for Right Click
7. Numeric Keypad Key 0 and using navigator keys (2,4,6,8) to select the text
8. You can disable this feature by Press again Alt+Left shift key (Below Caps Lock key) and the Num Lock key
9. Check this feature.. and Enjoy...

Resize and reduce picture size through online

1. Click HERE to enter the online image resizing website
2. Click "Browse Button " to Upload Image.
3. Select the file and click OK. and click on the "upload image" button
4. Now you can see the original image and optimized image
5. You can change width/height of the image
6. Tick the Compare Image Sizes Box and click on "Apply Changes Button"
7. Then you can see different file sized images of your image
8. you can choose the quality and file size and click the "download this size'
9. Save this new image to your location... and Enjoy....

1. Click the Start Button
2. Type "PSR" in the Search Programs and files box and hit enter
3. Then the "Problem Steps Recorder" Application launched
4. Click on the "Start Record" Button Then  Recording will Start
5. When You wish to stop Click On the "Stop Record "Button
6. Then a "Save As" window opened and you can save the file at any location of your computer
7. You can Extract the zip folder and Open the file in any Browser(Internet Explorer, Opera etc)
8. Now you can send this file (This file contains  screen shots of your screen and what you did) to your friend /  support engineer... and Enjoy....

Prevent users from launching an application In Windows 7

1. Find the Application Location You Installed
2. Select the Application and Right Click on it
3. Select Properties
4. Click on the Security Tab. Then a Window Opened
5. In Top Select the User/ User Group for preventng access to that application
6. In Bottom Select 'Deny' for the 'Read & executable' Permission
6. Click Apply and click Ok
7. Now the Specified user cant access the aplication.. and Enjoy...

Recover Windows 7 Gadjets

Problems

Gadgets may be displayed as black squares.
Gadgets may be displayed that have vertical green lines down the center, or gadgets may not be displayed at all.
Gadgets may have blue exclamation marks next to them.
The Calendar gadget may be displayed as an orange background that does not have dates.

Method 1: 
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Appearance and Personalization.
2. Under Desktop Gadgets, click Restore Desktop Gadgets installed with Windows.
3. Check the Gadgets... and Enjoy...

Method 2: 
1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Programs.
2. Under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows features on or off.
3. Click to clear the Windows Gadgets Platform check box.
4. Click OK for the change to take effect, and then restart your computer.
5. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Programs.
6. Under Programs and Features, click Turn Windows features on or off.
7. Click to check the Windows Gadgets Platform check box.
8. Click OK for the change to take effect, and then restart your computer.
9. Check the Gadgets... and Enjoy...

Method 3: 
1. Click Start, and then type regedit in the Search box.
2. Click regedit.exe under Programs.
3. Browse to and select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0
4. In the right-side pane, right-click 1200, and then click Modify.
5. In the Value data box, type either 1 or 0 to overwrite the existing value of 3.
6. Click OK, and then exit Registry Editor.
7. Check the Gadgets... and Enjoy...
